Do I say House or Home

Do I say ‘HOUSE’ or ‘HOME’

Sometimes it will be difficult when to know which word to use:

“I left my books at my house”

“I left my books at home”

Both of these sentences are fine.

But the general rule is that ‘House’ refers to the physical building whereas ‘home’ has more of a personal and emotional meaning:

E.g. “I live in a big house with my parents” – thinking about the size of the building.

“I live at home with my parents” – thinking about the house and everything that goes with it.
